The PCC convened its 16th Ordinary Quarterly Meeting on 6 December 2024 to discuss key issues, including the operationalisation of the Climate Change Response Fund, outcomes of COP29 and the Baku Climate Unity Pact, and South Africa’s upcoming G20 Presidency under the theme “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability.”
The PCC addressed recent job losses in Mpumalanga’s coal sector, emphasising the need for fair and just measures to support workers and communities.
The meeting also marked a leadership transition, welcoming Dr Crispian Olver as the new Deputy Chairperson, succeeding Valli Moosa, who was thanked for his exceptional contributions.
