The climate transition will involve major shifts in economic activities, both within and between sectors, and the skills pipeline needs to be geared for future labour markets. As future labour market entrants, young people need to be actively engaged in decision making about skills development strategies. The dialogue will focus on active participation of youth in labour market projections, skills planning and skills development initiatives. It will also look at the impact of the energy transition on labour demand in South Africa, and discuss bold ideas to accelerate innovation, employment, and entrepreneurial promotion.
