South Africa Climate Finance Landscape Report

The Presidential Climate Commission has collaborated with GreenCape and CPI to analyse climate finance flows covering the years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The recently released climate finance landscape report tracks public and private, domestic and international flows, from source through mechanisms to end use. The report builds on a previous landscape report for the years 2017 and 2018, and therefore provides an important longitudinal perspective on finance flows. The report also examines barriers to climate finance and makes recommendations about how to scale up finance in lagging areas. The research findings will be presented followed by a discussion on the meaning and importance of the findings. The session will conclude with a networking cocktail event.
