Second JTFM Stakeholder Consultation

The Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) hosted a virtual stakeholder consultation on the work done towards the recommendation for a Just Transition Financing Mechanism (JTFM).

At this consultation, the PCC discussed the urgency of raising finance for the just transition. The challenges and barriers that currently undermine financial flows toward the just transition were highlighted and a dedicated just transition financing facility to help to overcome these challenges was considered.

The virtual consultation was an open discussion with multi-stakeholder groups, to hear and garner views and feedback that will be inputted to the final iteration of the PCC JTFM recommendation report.

Stakeholders were given an opportunity to respond to and comment on the draft paper and the JTF assessment tool. The tagging framework which acts as project selection model was discussed in greater detail and the Project Team’s views on governance and institutional elements of the JTFM were discussed.
