The broader Just transition discourse in South Africa has advanced at the national level with increasing media interest and coverage of the just transition and climate change broadly.

In its recent engagement with the media and various stakeholders, there has been a call for more collaboration with and partnership to enhance the public education and raise awareness on the just transition. Central to the discourse has been issue of how the matter is communicated including the role of the media.

The Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) in partnership with Indalo Symposium 2024, extend invitation to a workshop on the development of a National Climate Action Awareness Campaign. awareness campaign.

The workshop aims to share with various media and communications practitioners, the draft Climate Action, and Awareness Campaign Partnership Framework, the recent HSRC Survey on Public Perception on Climate Change and a preview of South Africa’s First State of the State of Climate Action Report.
