Launch 2025: South African Climate Finance Landscape Report

The Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) is proud to announce the launch of the South African Climate Finance Landscape Report 2025, which maps financial flows that supported South Africa’s climate response between 2019 and 2021.

The report provides a comprehensive view of how public and private, domestic and international funds were directed towards mitigation, adaptation, and dual-purpose outcomes across key economic sectors. This analysis establishes a baseline for understanding climate finance flows prior to the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) announced at COP26 and the adoption of the Just Transition Framework (JTF).

Through this engagement, the PCC also seeks public comments and encourages private sector participation to support climate finance initiatives that:

• Mitigate the negative impacts of the transition on communities and local economies by providing resources to diversify and grow along new paths.

• Support communities affected by climate change in developing alternative and more resilient livelihoods.

This launch marks a milestone in PCC’s work to promote transparency, accountability, and impact in climate finance, contributing to South Africa’s journey towards a low-carbon, climate-resilient, and inclusive economy.
