CLIMATE COMMISSION DESIGNATES MR BLESSING MANALE AS ACTING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Johannesburg —The Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) after announcing the successful recruitment and appointment of Ms Dorah Modise as its Executive Director, effective from 24 February 2025, today announced the designation of Mr Blessing Manale as its Acting Executive Director from 1 January to 24 February 2025.

The vacancy of Commission Executive Director arose from the retirement of Dr Crispian Olver at the end of December 2024 and his appointment by President Ramaphosa as Deputy Chairperson of the Commission from 1 January 2025.

Mr Manale is currently the Executive for Consensus Building, Communications and Outreach in the PCC.

The Commission and the Secretariat will continue to collectively lead and deliver its work during this transition as it continues to reconfigure itself ahead of its formal proclamation as a Schedule 3 statutory body as per the Climate Change Act.
