Christelle Beyers

Christelle is a GIZ Senior Technical Advisor, Climate Finance and Capital Markets seconded to the PCC Secretariat. In her role, she provides technical and strategic direction and input on the role of the climate finance sector and capital markets in South Africa’s Just Transition. Her portfolio of work includes mapping national climate finance flows, assessing the country’s green technology readiness and technical advisory on carbon trade measures. Christelle brings over 25 years’ experience in the cross-cutting fields of climate change, climate finance and development planning. She is an astute sustainability facilitator and market development strategist and holds a BSc Town and Regional Planning and an M(Phil) in Sustainable Development Planning and Management degrees. Prior to joining the PCC, Christelle held progressively senior positions with the IIEC, CSIR, IFC, Chemonics and UN. Christelle further has a keen interest in green infrastructure and applying systems and pattern thinking for tangible sustainability outcomes and decision-support.
