Dumisani Nxumalo

Dumisani Nxumalo is a Senior Manager in the Presidential Climate Commission Secretariat, responsible for Partnerships & Project Support. He joined the PCC in the role of a Project Coordinator supporting the Donor Coordination, Climate Finance and Innovation; and the Climate Adaptation portfolios. He has also served as Acting Secretary.
Since the inception of his career Dumisani has worked for the then Department of Environmental Affairs (now the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment) and the World Resources Institute. He then moved to work for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, (GIZ) GmbH. He is a qualified United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change expert on the 2006 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change guidelines and greenhouse gas inventory compilation for the waste sector.
Given his educational background in Environmental Sciences from the Tshwane University of Technology, Dumisani is building his career in the policy space with a focus on mitigation and adaptation policies responding to climate change impacts in South Africa.
