Mac Chavalala

Mr Mac Chavalala is the First President of the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (NUMSA). He previously served as the President of the South African Federation of Trade Unions, SAFTU.

Mr Chavalala is currently employed by Eskom as a Senior Maintenance Planner, within Distribution division and he is a full time Shop Steward of NUMSA in Eskom. He is a qualified Electrician, and an accredited I.E. (Installation Electrician) and a qualified M.I.E. (Master Installation Electrician). In addition to these, Mr Chavalala has a Labour Law Certificate (UNISA), Advanced Labour Law Certificate (University of Pretoria) and a Diploma in Management and Leadership from Hawthorne University, Salt Lake City.
