Mapaseka Lukhele

Mapaseka Lukhele is the General Manager Corporate Sustainability at Transnet SOC Ltd. She is nearly a decade with the Company and has been responsible for various portfolios including Environment, Quality, Business Continuity, Stakeholder Engagement, Climate Change, Energy Management and, Sustainability.

Mapaseka possesses many years of experience directing and coordinating implementation of Environment Social and Governance (ESG) strategies, policies, frameworks, standards and management systems at senior and executive levels. Prior to joining Transnet she worked for Pretoria Portland Cement, Eskom and did consulting work on different agendas contributing to sustainable development. Further to her day-to-day professional responsibilities, Mapaseka serves as a Board Member at the Transnet Godisa Fund and, has served on several Advisory Panels and Boards; enhancing her exposure to Government Functioning and Corporate Leadership.

Her educational background includes; Masters in Business Administration, Masters in Environmental Science and, Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. She is registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions as a professional Natural scientist. She is a member of the Institute of Directors Southern Africa.
