Morwesi Ramonyai

Morwesi is a World Bank Senior Advisor seconded to the Presidential Climate Commission. In this role she is responsible for the Just Adaptation and Resilience Investment Plan.
With extensive experience as a green economy practitioner, Morwesi has worked across renewable energy, carbon management, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sectors for many years. Her expertise spans solar energy project development, carbon footprint assessments, carbon offset trading, eco-audits, and Training. She also provides strategic guidance on ESG matters. Her research into community-based energy systems for Access to Energy and energy security further reflects her commitment to fostering resilient and sustainable livelihoods.
Morwesi holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Rhodes University, an Executive MBA from the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business (UCT GSB), an International Executive Development Program (IEDP) qualification from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) at the University of Pretoria, and a Higher Diploma in Computer Auditing from Wits Business School. During her fellowship at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA, she also earned a Sustainability Leadership Certificate.
